You are welcome to the Raman Scattering Laboratory group. We are the Physics Department of Federal University of Ceara (Brazil). Our geographical location is Fortaleza city in the Northweast region of Brazil. Fortaleza is the capital of Ceará State.

Our group has been involved in the study of inelastic Light scattering (in particular Raman spectroscopy) in solid state materials. We have investigated different physical phenomena by analyzing the scattering of light in condensed matter. Our studies have been concentrated on the scattering of light by phonons. Phonons are elementary excitations present in the ordered solid materials due to the atomic vibrations. The scattered light carries out information not only about the vibrations themselves but also on the structural and electronic properties of the materials through the electron-phonon coupling.
