The International Conference on Superlattices, Nanostructures and Nanodevices is a series of biennial meetings that began in 1984 as a satellite meeting of the main forum in the field, the International Conference on the Physics of Semiconductors (ICPS). In 2008, the Brazilian community will host the first issue in this series to take place in the Southern Hemisphere. The previous issues of ICSNN were held in: 2006 (Istanbul), 2004 (Cancun), 2002 (Toulouse), 2000 (Kyongju), 1998 (Cairo), 1996 (Liege), 1995 (Cincinnati), 1994 (Banff), 1992 (Xian), 1990 (Berlin), 1988 (Trieste), 1987 (Chicago), 1986 (Gothenburg), 1984 (Notre Dame).
